Choosing the right saddle is crucial for your horse’s comfort and your riding performance. That’s why we offer a 5-day at-home saddle trial — so you can test the fit, balance, and comfort of your chosen saddle in your own environment before making a commitment.

This trial is ideal for riders who want to see how a saddle performs on their horse during regular work, whether schooling, hacking, or competing. It allows you to evaluate the saddle’s suitability fully, reducing the risk of costly mistakes and ensuring both you and your horse feel confident in the final choice.

With our saddle trial, you get the freedom to ride your horse in the saddle that could be “the one,” with the peace of mind that you’re not locked into a purchase until you’re completely happy.

How Our 5-Day Saddle Trial Works

Getting started with your saddle trial is simple. Once you’ve chosen a saddle from our carefully selected range, we’ll deliver it directly to your door, ready to use. You’ll have 5 full days to ride your horse and assess the fit, comfort, and overall suitability.

If the saddle doesn’t meet your expectations, returning it is straightforward. Just package it securely, following our return instructions, and send it back to us within the trial period. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and the saddle should be returned in a clean and undamaged condition, showing only reasonable signs of use.

If the saddle is returned with significant damage beyond normal wear, additional charges may apply. We’ll always communicate clearly about this before any fees are incurred.

Our goal is to make your trial experience as risk-free and convenient as possible, so you can make the best choice for your horse and riding style.

Our 5-day saddle trial is designed to be straightforward and transparent. There are no upfront costs or deposits to begin your trial, simply choose your saddle, check out online and we’ll send it to you.

Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We can send our courier to collect the saddle from you, or you can arrange your own. We recommend using a tracked and insured courier service to ensure your saddle arrives back safely.

Should you wish to return the saddle, as long as it is received in good condition, any refund owed will be processed promptly - typically within 3-5 working days.

Trialling a Saddle FAQ's

How does the 5-day trial work?

Once you've selected a saddle, we ship it to you to try for 5 full days. Ride in it, check the fit, and see how it suits both you and your horse. If it's not right, simply notify us within the 5 day period and return it to us.

Is there a fee to start a trial?

There is no additional upfront cost to trial a saddle. You only pay for the shipping, and the trial admin fee of £10 if you decide not to keep the saddle.

What happens if I want to buy the saddle?

If you’re happy with the saddle and want to keep it, you don't need to do anything else. However, if you do feel like letting us know you've made your mind up earlier, it does mean we can get payment to the saddles owner even faster which is always appreciated.

How do I return a saddle after trial?

To return a saddle to us simply complete the return form or send us an email within the 5 day period. We can then book a courier collection for you, or provide full instructions on how to return the saddle to us. Unfortunately, we cannot accept in person collections/drop offs.

How long do I have to return the saddle to you?

Once you have requested your return you have a further 5 days to return the saddle to us. After these 5 days a charge of £7 per day will be applied. After 28 days from delivery no returns will be accepted.

What if the saddle is damaged during the trial?

We expect some light wear, but if a saddle is returned with significant damage, we may charge for repairs or reduced resale value.

Can I trial more than one saddle at a time?

To keep things simple and fair, we allow three saddle per trial period. If you're unsure which saddles to try first, we're happy to offer guidance.

Can I extend my trial if needed?

We do not offer trial extensions.

Can I delay the start of my trial?

Saddles will be send out the same working day if ordered before 11am, and in all other the next working day. We cannot delay sending out a saddle.

I won't be available on the delivery day, what are my options?

Once the courier has your parcel you will be able to choose from options such as deliver to a neighbour, a local parcel shop or to choose a more conveneinet delivery day. You can also upgrade to more specific delivery times, as well as weekend deliveries in some circumstances.

Is the saddle insured while it's with me?

We recommend you check your own insurance or rider policy to ensure the saddle is covered while in your care. You are responsible for any loss or damage during the trial period.

Do you offer fitting advice during the trial?

Yes, we offer online saddle fitting consultations with a qualified fitter if you need help assessing the saddle you’re trialling.
