How does selling on commission work?
You send us your saddle, and we do the rest! We photograph it, list it across our platforms, handle enquiries, manage trials, and sell it on your behalf. Once it sells, we deduct our commission and send you the agreed amount.
How much commission do you take?
Our commission rate is directly linked to your saddles value. This cost covers professional photography, advertising, customer support, handling returns, and secure payment processing.
What types of saddles do you accept?
We accept good-quality, branded English saddles (jump, dressage, GP, pony etc.) in clean, safe, saleable condition. Popular brands include Albion, Kent & Masters, GFS, Fairfax and similar. We don’t take synthetic, damaged, or very low-value saddles.
Do I need to clean or prepare the saddle first?
Yes please! Saddles must be reasonably clean, well-presented, and free from mould, excessive wear, or major damage. If your saddle arrives dirty, a additional cleaning fee may apply or it may be returned to you. Regretfully we cannot accept any damaged saddles, and these will be returned to you at your own expense.
How do I send my saddle to you?
Once we’ve approved your saddle, we’ll send you instructions for packing and posting it securely to us. We can even send our courier to collect it from you for the ultimate hassle free experience. Alternatively, we recommend using a tracked and insured courier (like DPD or UPS). Unfortunately, we do not accept in person drop-offs.
Can I set the price, or do you decide?
We’ll discuss pricing with you based on current market trends, brand, condition, and demand. You're welcome to suggest a minimum amount you'd like to achieve — but we’ll always be honest about what it’s realistically worth.
What happens if my saddle doesn’t sell?
If your saddle hasn’t sold after a set period (usually 3–6 months), we’ll get in touch to discuss options, including price adjustments, promotion or returning it to you. You’re free to request it back at any time, however an administration charge of £25 will apply.
What if a buyer returns the saddle after a trial?
We offer buyers a 5-day trial to ensure the saddle is right for their horse. If it’s returned, we’ll relist the saddle and try again. You won’t be charged any extra, this is part of the service.
How quickly will I get paid after the saddle sells?
Once the 5-day trial has passed and the buyer confirms they’re keeping it, we’ll process your payment within 14 days, via bank transfer.
What if a saddle is damaged during a trial?
If a saddle is returned with damage that wasn’t present when it left us, we’ll assess the extent of the issue and contact the buyer immediately.
- Stirrup leather rubs or slight creasing are expected and generally accepted as part of a trial.
- Deep scratches, broken trees, stitching pulled, water/mould damage is not acceptable.
In cases of significant damage:
- repairs or compensation depending on the extent of the damage.
- covering the loss in value or purchasing the saddle outright.
How long will my saddle take to sell?
That depends on several factors, including the brand, condition, price point, and current demand. Some saddles sell within a few days, while others may take several weeks or even months. Saddles from popular brands in good condition, fairly priced, and in sought-after sizes tend to sell the fastest.
